Cold Turkey

Not been sailing since november and no perspective to do so this year. Additionally, my wooden dinghy is in need of repair and not time for that too, so not even a quick "fix" against the cold turkey to be had on the local river.... as a result, I find myself lurking in the forum, looking at weather forecasts and drooling over charts....

When I worked on a hotel barge in Burgundy I found myself longing for a proper boat that rolled and had sails, and the young French chef felt the same.

We took the 8' plastic dinghy I normally used for painting the barge, a deck umbrella for a sail and a deck brush as a rudder.

It was actually quite good off the wind, as we trundled past headed for **** knows where a hostess looked up, observed and shook her head sadly...
