Sorry for another post on this subject,Just wondering was all set to use this product on leaking teak decks but am a little worried it might make the decks look a bit plasticy,Its quite an expensive treatment so dont want to make a mistake.
Have any of you guys tried it?

I have no experience of using it, but I have seen it on a friends boat, and Ithought it looked bloody horrid, sorry, JMHO

burgundyben, coolest of men, by all I'm called, cool burgundyben.

We discussed Coelan recently under "Restoring Ply" on the Classic Boat Forum. I said my bit then about thinking that it could look a bit plasticy and somebody else said no it looks great.

What I will say again is that it does seal leaks.

On decks where it is likely to pick up scratches (that will stick out like a sore thumb in gloss) you might like to consider wet and drying the final surface to produce a matt finish.

Don't forget that you will be losing the non slip properties of the teak.

I use it, if you are putting it on a deck, use the non slip additive, thin it and put it on carefully, it will look a little plastic, that is due to its thickness, but it will stop your leaks! It can be made to look better, by flatting the final coat, before you add the antislip stuff, which is basically little beads of the stuff, already gone off. I like it, my handrails, bullwarks, covering boards and amsts are done with it. I find it ok. But be careful with it and don't slap it on, its very thick and this gives the plastic look.
