Stupid question, maybe: what is a 'code zero gennaker', as mentioned in this month's YM article on the new Najad? How is it set/furled? And do I want one on my Christmas list?

Very light genny, with a luff on something like Spectra - usually set on its own detachable furler ahead of the real forestay. Used for light airs beating/tight reaching with the wind too far forward for a kite or cruising chute. Like this, but not necessarily white.

Ours is set on a Bamar roller system - very handy as could be a bit of a beast if it got out of control

well worth it for light less than 10 knots airs.

mine has a straight luff on a furler, i.e. it's a very flat code 0.

sails to wind better than the genoa !!

I would have expected a straighter luff than in the photos - I thought the benefit was being able to pull the luff bar tight to get much more to windward than normal for a gennaker which is limited to about 60 - 70 deg apparent.

yep, i don't think they are code 0's.

mine goes to wind v well, 40 & less apparent no prob.
