Whilst son and heir was away at Uni I adapted his tent into an very passable cockpit tent it is a nice fit - singer sowing machine permitting ! However I want to increase its waterproofness. My neighbour has suggested spraying it with Thompsons waterproofing l clear liquid - as sold by B&Q. Does anybody have any views on this??

many thanks

I used a spray on waterproofer and have not been very pleased with the result. Not only did some drift off on the breeze but the large can wasn't really enough for the sprayhood. A trip to a camping/caravan shop should produce a brush on version in sensible quantity.

I'll re-do mine now it's stopped raining!
