Cockpit side combing locker mouldings wanted

Try Force 4 chandlery, they have a variety of inspection hatches which would lend themselves to a coaming locker, and some actual lockers.

There used to be a firm called Sheraton who made a lot of wooden boat furniture and grp coaming lockers, I've got one; but a quick google didn't show any sign of them, they used to advertise in the back of PBO but I'm probably years out of date as usual.

SSI in the States make them - here's one for example. Shipping cost may be a disincentive.

As an alternative, why not make one yourself? I made a little coaming box to recess an autopilot control into the side of the cockpit. You just need to make a mould in MDF, etc, and lay up a bit of GRP.
 
Dazedkipper / Seajet - That's the company advert I was looking for.. they've advertised in the back pages of Sailing Today (can I say that?) this month.

I've just had a look through my many pics, naturally the only angle I haven't covered is the Sheraton coaming locker on my boat !

I'd guestimate the size at about 14 X 9", about 8" deep; the wooden fascia is of course a touch bigger, and the comment about the drains in the wood blocking was spot on.

Also as most coamings are angled, the lower further longways edge will retain a little water, as the drains are at the front, I just sponge it dry.

I'd say the size is about ideal for the job, takes bino's and various handy stuff, I also mounted a small external VHF speaker in mine.

The wood used for the front is good quality ( teak ? ) or at least mine of about 10-15 years ago is.

I'd recommend them, especially as they seem the only realistic option apart from making from scratch !

The Sheraton locker cutout sizes are 325L x 145H x 100D. I know this 'cos I asked 'em! :)
