Does anyone know who will make a cockpit windscreen & hardtop for a catamaran please? We're based South Coast (Portsmouth harbour), so suppliers local to that would be useful. Thanks.

I can't help you with that, however, whatever you do be very careful with the design. I have seen so many cases of cats, and MoBos for that matter, which were originally designed with open cockpits and have been ruined by a greenhouse/conservatory added on top.

Before going too far consider a collapsible canvas cover if its weather protection you are after. It doesn't matter what it looks like if it keeps you dry and warm(er) but can almost vanish out of sight in better conditions. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Sorry, can not help with supplier. I have one on my Prout Quest 31 which is open aft, like a conventional spray hood, but it has probably been there a long time as have seen pics of the same hardtop on another Quest in a brokerage ad.

Go for it though, much better than sailing under a tent which eventually will start to drum and flap. It makes the cockpit much more comfortable at sea and at anchor. You can also fit hard perspex or glass windows to give better visibility than thin plastic used in tents.

As to appearance, a well designed one can look OK. Another tip is to paint it a dark colour so that it is less obtrusive.

Hi - The boat I want it for is a Prout Quest 31 too. Can you e-mail photos? I have seen the one on a Quest 31 called Alley Cat which was super - perhaps yours is like it?
