Coca Cola (yes it is boaty!)

Anyone ever use Coca Cola to clean their gelcoat and decks?

Joking aside... acetic acid? Could be I suppose but it would have to be pretty strong to do what it did to my cabin floor! I hate to think what it does to teeth!

Think you mean Phosphoric Acid and as there is carbondioxide disolved in it to make it fizz allegedly carbonic acid.

As I don't drink the stuff and had some left over from a party I poured some into one of my heat exchanger stacks that needed a clean, expecting to see it shining clean the next day.

No such luck. Cleaned nothing. But I have a good mate who swears by it for cleaning decks.

Urban myths my friend. Put a nail in coke - it'll still be there in 4 days. As will the steak - I regularly marinate chicken in coke pre-bbq for 24 hours and haven't noticed anything missing!!

Given that when drunk coke passes through the stomach and intestinal system without ever passing even close to a bone how the heck could it do that! As said, just a bunch of urban myths.
