Numerous On Line chandlers have recently been offering the new (I think) Cobra 6" colour chartploter as a package with the C Map megawide chart of the UK & Ireland for £499.
This seems incredibly good value as the retail cost of the C Map chart is circa £240.00 on it's own.
Having had a poor experience with a Cobra hand held VHF I'm hesitant to buy another Cobra product. If any forumites have used/purchased the Cobra chart plotter I'd appreciate any feedback before I consider my options further.
Thanks

I think the main thing to remember is that cobra is a budget brand - certainly if there are any chances of the unit getting wet, I would go for a higher spec unit.

Re: Cobra Chart Plotters - bargain ??? why ?

I hear that a boater bought the Lowrance 3600C with nautipath chart card (Greenland to Gibraltar) NW Europe for £375 all in ... at Marine Super Store ...

Now that is a bargain !! Even the £450 I paid for 3500C beginning of year was a bargain ... compared to other offerings ...

Just bought the Lowrance 3500c with Nauticpath chart from greenland to gibraltar for less than that. Good unit, good reputation from a company that have been doing it for a while. would consider that in preferance to Cobra. Raymarine good kit but pricy.
