Coastguard rescues soar despite Covid-19 lockdown

How many were from the beach, shoreline cliffs, etc and how many were from yachts?

Oh, it says "As well as the boat incident..."

The boat - One, singular?
Was that the only one or is that just a case of what the reporter decided to put done?

I also find it interesting that they've had "a daily average of 63 for the previous month".
Yet, for a warm, sunny Bank holiday there's only around 40 more incidents - Hardly massive numbers

Good post, good to look at the facts.
94 seems low for the whole of the UK, would be interesting to compare the figures for May day bank holiday in 2019 but can't find them

You can almost guarantee that an incident arises when people walk out to Cramond Island, near Edinburgh, and are cut off by the incoming tide. They invariably get rescued by the RNLI. Do they need to be "rescued"? Of course not, the tide always goes out again.

Indeed. The proper response from the emergency services would be: "Congratulations. You have ten hours in which to reflect on how you can improve your future decision making."

There's a lot of truth in that, but imagine the headlines if they said that and a bunch of people in shorts and teeshirts died because the weather closed in, or became seriously ill because essential medication was at home.

"Lord, Lord, We didnae ken".
And the Lord said, "Ah weel, ye ken noo".
