The Coastguard sent me an email inviting me to "update" the CG66 details I had on file with them (from a paper card sent in 2 years ago. The email had a link to their website to update the details - but it took me to a new blank page to start filling in all boat/equipment details again from scratch, instead of showing the existing data to check. So I didn't bother. Seems a fairly stupid system.

I updated my details on-line 12 months ago. I too had some difficulties navigating their system - seem to recall that "updating" was a totally different section to "registering".

I tried unsuccessfully to update my pic after painting the topsides and eventually had to phone my local CG office at Greenock.
The officer collating CG66 was apologetic and gave me her email address to send the Jpeg to. She uploaded the pic to the database.
She seemed to be acknowleging it is virtually impossible to update the pics from public access pages, which is not a lot of use.

I phoned up my local GC HQ. I asked them to pull up my record on to screen. (I was surprised how many other boats share my name, although none in my cruising area) We did a details check there and then.

i need to update my details. as i've bought a new liferaft... i think i registered the S/N of the old raft with them. might of been OFCOM too can i do both on the web ?

Had the same problem only last night. had forgotten my log on details so had to set up a new registration, which of course would not take me to my existing details.

Tried to resolve this using the 'Support' link which timed out after about 5 minutes, so I packed up and went to bed !

I can't help resolve it, but at least now feel better in knowing that I am not alone !

Well, from the replies so far, I guess I must be lucky! I had the notification to check/update the details on-line, and all the previous stuff was there. Just made one or two mods, pressed 'confirm' or whatever it was, and had a confirmation sent to me. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

It was towards the end of last year though, so maybe there's a temporary(?) problem. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

When i dropped off an old flare a couple of weeks ago, i asked for a copy of my cg66 so i could check and amend if needed, also got given the collating officers email to send any amendments to and he would make sure it had been uploaded.

If you are having problems with the database then give your local cg a call and i'm sure they will sort the problem out for you...

Doubt it.

That would be classed as admin and part of the current work to rule.

I had problems uploading the picture because the file size was to big. I can't remember what the limit was, but tried all sorts of ways to compress my file ect., but couldn't get it small enough. Gave up in the end.

I'd tried to update my CG66 some time ago and couldn't remember login details. Eails went unanswered, so I gave up.

I sent an email to EastYachty yesterday and she sorted it all out with a reply waiting for me this morning.

Full marks Bev!
