Some feedback (I first managed to mis-post this in "Wanted" Fingers....)
A while ago I asked for advice regarding transmit interference on our VHF and also a mis-reading sounder, and wondered if the fact that both co-ax cables ran through the engine bay close to the alternator could be the cause.
After good advice, we re-ran the co-ax cables down the other side of the boat, thus avoiding the engine bay and things were instantly sorted.
Just because a diesel engine does not emit electrical interference does not mean that the alternator regulator doesn’t.
Thanks to all those that contributed.
