I can't remember but was it on this forum that someone mentioned a place that you could send a computer drawing file to and they'd send you back the bits? I need 20 rings about 8" diameter (with a few lugs and holes in them) cutting out of 1.5mm stainless (or aluminium)...

Doesn't have to be laser - quite happy with plasma, router or water jet...

They would probably want an electronic drawing of what was wanted (they could probably do one for you but charge you handsomely for it!)

If you find someone who can do it (I know there are lots of people who can do it, I'd do a google search if I were you) I could do a drawing in AutoCAD for you (no charge), pm me if interested.
 
strange enough was talking to a friend down at the yard today who has had the parts made for a stern rope drum made by a local company ( the two round end plates with weight reducing holes ). an excellent job and a very good price too. They asked for a cad drawing as the system could then have generated the code for the cnc machine but he could only give them a sketch from which they made a drawing. Will see him in the morning and get the details for you

Ta Sean. That's kind. I have CAD and can send a file in various formats, it's just a case of finding a supplier.
 
Company friend used was Campbell's on 01482 444422 i'd give em a call and get an e-mail address and send em a tif , that should suffice for all.
 
Water Jet Cutting
