Are we talking about the speed and quality of information from the members, or speed of hardware and internet?
Windows systems do corrupt, degrade, fragment and generally become slower over an extended period of use without some form of maintenance.
The Net/Web also has utilisation, contention, ongoing maintenance, upgrades and faults which are not declared to its users (public and business) due to avoidance of contract penalties etc.
