The rudder. We spent some nights on board in the estuary and found the rudder, well the rudder post clunks inside the pipe carrying it through the hull. We have tied it off tightly and get quick clunkkerchunks, used bungees and get slower clunkkerchunks, tied it closer to the stock and the same noise further away etc. What is recommended please TIA

Sounds like you need a need bearing in the rudder tube.these are nylon and you will need to remove the rudder to replace it. Use the scrubbing posts and have a look. You may find that it can wait till the end of the season or find something to pack it with untill you are able to get the work done.Has the Cobra got a skeg mounted rudder?

Yes it is set into skeg where it looks inadequate for the job to my mind. Think I will take it out at the end of the season and put nylon bearings. It is just loose in the tube taking it through the hull. Cheers
