Hi there,

I need to inspect a propshaft anode, located about 1m deep.

Has anyone used an underwater video camera to do this in our Essex opaque waters ? What was the equipment and how did you get sufficient light ?

Regards,

Moonshine

No, but there are places here and there with a reputation for clear water, presumably where the tide doesn't carry much sediment. Goldhanger Creek is one.

Hi Alistair, I have an underwater camera which I attach to a boathhok. It has a ring of lights surrounding the lens, so works well.
In fact, the best time to use it is in evening light because the Video screen isnt really sunlight viewable.

I will be back after August Bank Holiday, Ican drop it off to Fambridge on the way home, or some other time to suit.,

Hi Jim,

Hope your trip goes well, interesting forecast for the coming week :-)

Your camera would it be the Maplin product with a monitor ? I hope to get something organized, if unsuccessful I would be most grateful of your kind offer, thanks. I will let you know how I go on.

Regards,

Alasdair
