Would you have one on your boat? All views and experiences or suggested similar cost alternatives would be appreciated.

Have we decided yet Ken 4th or 11th?

If the latter looking forward to meeting many of you there.

I installed one on my boat when we set off for the med. works reasonably well, but the coverage of the forecasts it receives is patchy. they are german forecasts and cover well the areas of greater interests to the master race, such as the north sea and the med. coverage of (say) the atlantic coast of spain and france is more limited / generalised. coverage of the uk other than the n sea and channel is zero.

would probably earn its keep in greece or turkey or on deep sea crossings. but where you can get good navtex forecasts, i wouldnt bother with it.
