I have the manual but it is not so comprehensive for a newcomer to Navtex so could anyone point me towards more information? About all it says is "after programing for stations and messages press enter" but I need a bit more info on stations and messages. For example if its possible to filter out some of the wide range of European info that I pick up. Many thanks.

Go here http://www.icselectronics.net/NAVTEX.php
and you can find all the stations that you need. Just cruise through the settings on the NAVTEX and choose the stations that you want active. Then be patient and wait about 24 hours for the messages to come through. Also decide if you want the 5?? or 4?? frequency messages to be received Experience says the 4?? which give the local forecasts for inshore waters are the more useful
Great piece of kit - once you get it programmed as you like it
