I'm looking about for such a thing at the moment. I just thought I'd mention it here as someone may have half a mind to be selling one. In the nature of things I'm not in the market for a beautiful, restored and expensive one.

First one is a ply/epoxy 5 year-old. Plan is to keep it on the lake shore and I think it would be too delicate.
As for the Dhow, well, what can I say?

We have a lovely old clink dink, originally built as a steam yacht tender in the late 20s and converted to sail in the 50s. 14' 2" ish long and v. Swallows and Amazons. She has a gunter rig at the moment but the mast is well forwards and I have wondered before about converting to lug. We have replaced a number of ribs but there are plenty more to do. We have worked on the basis of doing two or three a year and then putting her on the water.

Some pics at Dido

She needs a new carer as I have had a rash moment and bought an old Maurice Griffiths. SWMBO says one wooden boat is more than enough! PM me if you would like to know more.

Have a look through the piccies herewith reference to the sequence on moving the boat and hauling her down to the slipway, prior to launching. This was done solo, using chain hoist and purchases, by the builder and owner.

I don't suggest this is any way to be going on....

Remarkable!

I particularly liked Moving Down The Irregular Ramp (echoes of T25)

wouldn't do for a 2 hour sail and then back ashore though!
