Hello all,

I have a climma 12000 btu split unit and have a nPR fault on the Mk II vega control panel. The manual says this is the change over not set correctly or the dip switches are not set correct. The fault started as intermittent, but now is constant. So no aircon or heating. Swapping the control board is a €700 experiment so I would prefer one more round of fault finding before I do that.

The dip switches are set as per the manual.

“Change over not set correctly “ I imagine is something to do with the reverse cycle valve They usually stick - but they don’t usually involve sensors that know they are sticking.

I would.
1. Move all dip switches back and forward
2. Trace through what sensors there are and with the help of the manual determine what they are.
3. Thump / manipulate the reversing valve
4 inspect pcb for corrosion

depending on your electrical skill exploration with a multi meter of the sensor status may tell yousomething

I would suggest the 'thump' manoeuvre as an early check. Reversing valves tend to work either in heating or cooling for prolonged periods and as a result the reversing valves get stuck and need a jolt to set them free. If you can't get either heating or cooling the valve has possibly stuck midway.

They use a solenoid that drives the valve one way or the other to heat or cool mode, with for most cool mode the default with the solenoid not energised. If you can get hold of a solenoid magnet I would run the system, remove the normal solenoid coil and pass a suitable bolt or screwdriver into the coil to prevent it overheating, then try repeatedly placing the magnet over the solenoid as this might well free it up.

Okay, so a bit more information. As soon as I turn the circuit breaker on for the aircon it goes through a self test which then gives the nPR message and so won’t allow the system to be turned on.

Having looked at all the diagrams I can’t spot a reversing valve.

Here is a link to the best set of instructions I can find with pictures. https://www.osculati.com/document-h...IS/50.241.12-16 COMPACT-SPLIT-MK3_gb-2014.pdf

Follow the Rcv wires off the main board.

it has no sensors so I don’t know how it knows it maybe stuck !
