River Thames – river restriction Clifton Hampden Bridge
Monday 3 September 2012 for approximately 2 to 3 weeks
The planned completion of the Bridge repair works have been delayed due to difficult river conditions.
The Contractors now have a pontoon placed in the central, main navigation arch.
The arch immediately either side of centre is 3’ narrower and approximately 10” lower than the central arch.
It has been arranged that the pontoon will be removed from the arch late Friday afternoon and replaced early Monday morning to allow transit of larger vessels during the weekend.
Masters of vessels requiring the central arch are advised to avoid passage outside of this window.
Please follow directional signage, follow any directions given by the safety boat and navigate slowly and with caution in the area of these works.

is this an emergency repair? I'm away for two weeks, surely the EA haven't planned this for the middle of the season? Licence refunds being offered?

No, it's been planned all summer, they just never knew when they could do it because of the variable river conditions. Baglady has been spitting feathers all summer and I don't blame them.

EA giving good value for money then; height of the season and top 25% river unavailable! Isn't there a published height/depth they have to keep to?
