Tied up away from the storm. Oh yes.

After a refit lasting the best part of 2 years, Cleone is back in the water. Slowly putting the rig back. Luckily only making half a pint an hour in seepage, and that after one full day afloat. You can tell by the rain, that the rigging will take a few days.

Its just a temporary mooring on the upper reaches of the river EXe just north of the M5 motorway, but close enough to the yard for me to row my stuff over. Having said that, it took me 45 minutes to row and tow myself the 300 yds upstream against the current 2 days ago!

Why row? The river's too shallow in places for an outboard. Good exercise, though. As for the finish, it isn't yet...

Well, thanks everyone. Not so much pride but a feeling of relief. I may just get some good weather late season sailing in this year after all. And she has taken up really quickly, so no hull worries.

And, fun though it is to rebuild boats, they are at their best actually being afloat.
