Read a 2011 issue of pbo last week and remembered to try this and IT WORKS.

Sugar and vegetable oil.

Had horrible dirty hands after a job just now and tried the above and clean as a whistle- well done whoever posted it in PBO mag.

I quite like "The Really Good Stuff", only problem is buying it. My wife once tried to get some in Halfrauds and the conversation went on for quite a while.

Halfords guy offers to help when she is browsing.
SWMBO: I'm looking for hand cleaner, "The Really Good Stuff".
Halfords: Well Swarfega works quite well
SWMBO: Yes, but I'd prefer "The Really Good Stuff".
Halfords: Do you know who makes it?
SWMBO: No idea?
Halfords: What does it look like?
SWMBO: I think it is an orange coloured dispenser
Halfords: Doesn't ring a bell, are you certain that you don't know what it is called?
SWMBO: Penny finally drops. Ah, it's actually called "The Really Good Stuff", that's the name on the dispenser.
Halfords: Oh, never heard of that before, I'll ask my boss if we stock it.

Guy wanders off and starts talking to someone who comes right over
Halfords2: What sort of hand cleaner are you looking for?
SWMBO: It's "The Really Good Stuff"
Halfords2: Yes, but who makes it?
SWBO: Now having trouble keeping a straight face, deliberately spins it out a bit longer.

She now knows to explain very carefully before trying to buy it.

decorators wipes from B+Q. Cleans hands and boat. And clothes. Always works even when you haven't got water. And gets off surplus paint, varnish, silicone sealant and sikafklex (before it sets of course)

Diesel and sugar is works, sounds like it does the same but does not smell as nice...

You wash it off with water... Same as washing up liquid needs water..

Baby wipes are dam fine as well...

Sugar and oil is probably better for your skin though???

A friend and I concluded that, since fingernails always work when all other tools fail to shift something, that we should save the clippings, put them in somebody elses liquidiser and mix with persil and washing up liquid.
