Hi there,
New to this forum, but have been following it for some time. Seems to be quite a lot of experience around here! So my question: my non-slip treadmaster has black spots that are only removable by using a small screwdriver or penknife or the like. No cleaning agent seems to help – tried several. As the boat is 32 feet there must be a more simple solution. Any suggestions?

I know, I will create an outcry... but here it goes anyway: use very carefully (minimum distance 15 cm) a high pressure cleaner.

Haven't been here for a while so excuse the delay. My boat is 1972 and I think the treadmaster is original. It was horribly discoloured. Tredcote is their proprietary brand of paint. Costs about £30 a litre but that does 7 square metres or so, so it goes a long way. I used a scrubbing brush, washing up liquid in a bucket of water, cleaned the old treadmaster, let it dry and painted it. Dead easy, goes on like a dream and the stuff looks like new. Forget cleaning, paint it. Its amazing to find something that really does do what it says on the tin!
