Cleaning stern gear

Well, it's come around again, the time of year when we have the joy of scraping the props, shafts, rudders and tabs /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
It then occurred to me that a jet wash might do the trick.
As I antifoul everything there are no nasty barnacles, just old flakey paint to remove.
Apart from probably getting soaked by the spray, are there any problems with this?
Has anyone tried this before; does it work??

It's what you see the boat yards doing when you hand the job over to them. Take care (I'm sure the boat yards don't!) not to directly blast the rubber hoses/gaiters with jet wash because this can shorten their life.

I always use a hot Diesel powered jet wash to get the grimee and stuff off. As said be carefull of getting to close to boots and gaters but otherwise it saves hours of work,
