Some time ago I asked for advice about Pickling Paste for cleaning 316 St/St

Well I finally got round to getting some with great results. There are many different types on the market but I went with the advice of technical people from BOC who obtained a paste called " Polinox - P Rapid " also known as pink paste it is a combination of Hydrafloric & Nitric Acid. Wearing the corect PPE I coated a St/St Tabernackle that I had fabricated it was left for thirty minutes before being hosed down with fresh water now looks like new, fantastic result.

I have also used it sparingly on an anodised aluminium mast again came up like new removing all black coroded scratch marks and of course the lacquer, which I have now re-coated.

2Kg cost £42 well worth it If anyone wants any more info please contact me

Regards Ed

I used to work for a company in South Africa which manufactured fancy, complicated, stainless exhaust systems. They used a form of acid, yellow with a tinge of green, liquid, available in large amounts and extremely cheap. It was brushed on and left for about 30-60 seconds, washed off with water. A couple of minutes on the polishing wheel, you had a chrome finish which lasted a very long time. A company which does the same thing here, should be able to give you the local version. WARNING this stuff is strong.
