Cleaning Spinnaker

My spinnaker has some sticky residue on the sail.
I guess from previous sail numbers.

What is the best way to remove this?
Hot soapy water? or something else?

Glitter. That way it will pop with an amazing shimmer and glimmer when you round the windward mark.

Boring answer is use some "sticky stuff remover" on the sail

Cut them out & tell every one you have one of those flash parasails

Or try the more common alternative?
Trail it behind you at the windward mark to wash it off

Try using some white spirit, as that should remove the stickyness.

Dry cleaning fluid is the best for softening glue and removing it .Soak the area with a dampened cloth over sticky bit ,and scrape residue and finally wipe off
remains.
Water is unlikely to help .A warm iron ,with sticky side down onto fabric waste will sometimes loosen the glue ,but you would still need solvent to clean off comepletely .

There is a very effective product called ‘Goo-Gone’which should be completely safe to use on your spinnaker, available from several different suppliers.
