i have a few small stains on my sail i have tired a sail cleaner . with a slight improvement . would any one have any suggestions what i could use .the stain was caused by a decomposed insect during storage
One of the liquid, biological laundry detergents perhaps. Apply neat, allow to soak and then rinse. And/or one of the "oxy action" laundry bleaches, not chlorine bleach. Ther is one by "Vanish" which is being advertised quite a bit at the moment.
I agree about the oxi - products Oxyclean is another.
You can also fill a wheelie bin with warm water and biotex, soak the sail in it overnight and rinse well
Hi, you could try Y-10 for fiberglass hulls, it is very good at removing rust stains from sails, the boat i sometimes crew on use it, just apply on a damp cloth leave for a few mins then rinse off,
it will not remove blood stains /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
I bought a tub of oxi clean for just that purpose and it was useless, I think because it just sat on the surface rather than penetrating the sail cloth. I have a mark on my new main I cannot shift will be very interested to see replies of solutions that actually work.
