Anyone else just spent four hours pressure washing, then soapy brush wash, Then rinse.... Only to discover that the boat is still dirty????


There is some new grey black **** which seems to have been attracted to the decks aft which just does not seem to want to shift....


Arrrgh!


Anyways... Tommorrow I will tackle all the marks and scuffs and missed bits with j cloth and gunk.

5the only place a pressure washer should be used on a boat is on the antifoul.
do you really want yo blast-out all you sealants & erode your teak

I have a plastic boat, and I don't use it on the crappy faux teak laminate in the cockpit. The advantage of a plastic mass produced boat is that you can give it a spray down at the beginning of the season, And your good to go.

If the only thing keeping the water out of your boat is some "sealant"... You have problems....

Amen to that! Pressure washing and BBQ spatula wielding are a mans right. A rise of the gentle wash with soap and hull care products is another sign of the feminisation of men.

Sadly, I haven't found one yet.

Back to the G3 Farecla paste, and 3M Marine wax or MER.
 
I use a small steam cleaner I got from Widdle....sorry..Lidl...last year for £20 ...those greasy stains just seem to.........melt..........away.........

Eco friendly too......

If that don't shift it......then it's all down to the oxalic acid........YHER !!!!

On a serious note....go to your local lorry shop, (or e-bay), and look for TFR....Traffic Film Remover...it's what they use to clean lorries......it works !

I see a good review for using Traffic film Remover in a steam cleaner, unfortunately I have just have a pressure washer
no heat, no chemical. I too have black ????????? plus greean algea , can anyone recomend how to get this off with just a pressure washer
 
Algae will be killed by products like Polycel Mould Killer, or bleach or others. Grey is harder and something detergent is necessary. I found an old bottle of Starbrite Gel cleaner in my garage and it has worked very well.

Yep hellava job
took all day Sunday to polish ( well almost as i did tape up & a coat of A/F too)

Try Cillit Bang... the one with the orange handle/cap.But remember to leave it "act" for a few minutes before scrubbing off
 
You guys seem to be talking about glass fibre cleaning, mine is a wooden boat with a coat of inknown deck paint, will oxalic acid lift the paint or does it depend on the paint, I have a feeling that the last owner but one had the idea it was masonary paint. Any suggestions?
