I have a pair of Quayside Biscay boots, about 3 years old and not worn that much.
They are these ones:

So can anyone recommend on the best way to clean and re-waterproof them? The leather parts seem to have attracted a lot of salt residue, despite being washed off in freshwater, so how can I get rid of that? Also, what waterproofing would members suggest as I think they may be very slightly weeping through the leather.
They are very warm and comfortable when worn and mores the point, my feet do not seem to sweat too much (I guess due to the breathable material used?)
Reluctant to dispose of them due to the lack of use, but the salt residue makes them look tatty

Thanks.

For my Dubarrys I find that rinsing repeatedly with fresh water, inside and out, eventually removes the salt stains. When they have dried out completely I give them a liberal coating of Dubbin, from Barratts (that is a UK High St chain, isn't it?), working it well into the seams and creases. This gives the kind of 'soft sheen' which seems to be so popular in the world of décor right now:) The fabric parts get a spray of Nikwax. After each use I give them a rinse off with fresh water,(likewise my oilskins). When the fresh water ceases to bead on them is when I should, (but usually don't:)) give them a further light application of Dubbin.
