Cleaning headlinings

I have headlinings with vinyl covered boards (non foam backed variety). Having replaced the side linings around the windows the headlinings look a bit dirty. Anyone have any good methods for cleaning these? Soap and water doesn't seem to touch it!

Mild domestic surface cleaners is all i would try.

If the vinyl has a coloured pattern dont use solvents.

Are you sure the new stuff is exactly the same colour as the old ?

I still use a bottle of Decosol, bought from Halfords about 30 years ago.

I see it is available in a spray can:

Don't know if it is the same formula, but mine works very well.

Decosol does a real nasty on eyes.... Wear googles, my late mother would give you chapter and verse
