Cleaning hard green stuff from the top of fenders that have been baked in the Med sun

I have fender with blue top and bottom and white in between that looks like these these

In my spring cleaning I found that the top surface has patches of green stuff that seems difficult to shift with Starbrite cleaner or acetone! I tried a knife to scrape it off and it is difficult to remove and incredibly sticky.

Is there something that I can apply to dissolve this stuff?

if it is of superficial vegetable origin, then try any moss cleaner or similar containing benzalkonium chloride, e.g. Patio Magic. (Being careful with the disposal, of course )

If the fenders are in fact degrading and the polywhatsist is being eaten up, then I don't have any suggestions.

I have used spray on Oven Cleaner successfully on both fenders and dinghy which developed the same problem. Washed the whole lot off with washing up liquid and a small scrubbing brush.

My cleaning armory consists of 4 different approaches to stains etc. First choice is Oxalic acid if that fails I try a bleach (chlorine) cleaner if still no good I try acetone solvent type cleaning if all else fails a caustic cleaner (oven cleaner) would be tried. from there it is mechanical abrasive cleaning. good luck olewill

You could move your boat and fenders to Wales, then it would soon become soft green stuff soaked in the Welsh rain, which is easy to remove. Does this help?
