Has anyone any recommendations for cleaning fenders, please? Mine get evil fish smelling gung around the watermark which is a devil to shift. I've tried Jif and plenty of rubbing as so called fender cleaners do not touch the stuff.

I used white spirit to clean the worst off mine and then fairy liquid. Seemed to work well but I am not one to sped money on fancy marine cleaning gizmoes.

If all else fails try thinners no 9 (polyurethane thinners). This will get the fenders clean of the worst stains, but leaves them with a slightly sticky, matt surface. They need to be washed down and hung out to dry for a couple of weeks before re-using. They can be repolished, though not as good as new.

Never mind all the fancy lotions and potions. I've just cleaned all of our in a very rewarding afternoon using good old Brillo Pads.

Cheers
