Cleaning boat canvas and perspex windows

Read that such as common table salt and a nail brush is good for cleaning Algae from the canvas and using rubbing alcohol good for cleaning cloudy perspex canvas windows then polish with Pledge
True or False ?

For algae on canvas (and decks) just spray with Patio Magic and leave for a day.
