Cleaning an inflatable - Gommostrip works really well!

We have had a problem with our 7 year old inflatable, where it's got all sticky where it has been exposed to the sun while in the dinghy rack.

I think I saw a recommendation for Gommostrip on these forums...

Got hold of some from Force 4 Chandlery recently (I think Force 4 seem to be the only place to get it in the UK).

And the results are great! Gets rid of the yellowing sticky patches and leaves the dinghy looking much better. See pictures. In the dinghy picture, the top section above the seam is untouched, the bottom is after cleaning.

As a matter of interest, does the bottle list the active ingredients ?

Translating from the Italian:

Sodium Hydroxide
Ethoxylated C10-12 alcohols
Ethanol amine(??)

It's quite nasty corrosive stuff!

Looks good, never heard of that before. Used to use this before I fitted chaps - Inflatable Boat Cleaner, 500ml Trigger Spray - Polymarine RIB Inflatable boat repair (polymarineshop.com)
