1) Unscrew the depth sounder by mistake
2) curse as jet of water hits one in eye
3)put blank in
4)bail out boat
5) pull out blank and replace with the other blank rather than the intended depth sensor
6) curse
7)bail out boat
8) pull out blank and replace with the other blank rather than the intended depth sensor
9)curse
10 bail out boat
11)replace with depth sensor
12)smile
13)bail out boat
14) pull out impeller
15)replace with blank
16)bail out boat
17)clean impeller and replace
18) bail out boat
19) nice cup of tea

Dunno, I find it useful to know SOG and speed through the water, lets you know what the tide is ACTUALLY doing!
 
Jimi - don't you get the crew to do these things? Isn't that what staff are for, man? Let them have that sense of achievement - spread a little ray of sunshine further instead of hogging it all yourself...
