Hi gents, I'm an intruder from the yachty forum /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif but I'm also the boat officer for a dive club 6.8 RIB /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif . The tubes are made from orange Hyperlon with a black sacrificial top edge.

I am looking for advice on cleaning the tubes and polishing them if necessary as she comes out of the water in a couple of weeks.

I was told to contact HLB on the MOBO forum and ask about "Muckifarters Magic".

In my youth I have been sent for a Long Weight, glass hammer etc so I thought what the hell why not ask /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif.

Any advice

Thanks

Hi,
I have tried all sorts on my tender and found
Tender/Inflatable cleaner is good on fenders
Fender cleaner is good on seat covers
seat cover cleaner is good on carpet spills
but best on tenders is BBQ cleaner !

"Fairy Power spray from any supermarket."

Fraction of the cost of tender cleaner.

Jif, or whatever they're calling it these days. Worked for me and didn't cost me a bean. I knicked it from the kitchen cupboard!

Just don't use it neat, hlb didn't call it boat removal elixir for nothing! tcm seems to recommend 1:10 dilution, and his boat went from 23m to 15m overnight.

Then again, that might be down to his preferred use of neat petrol as a cleaning aid? Should have used diesel.

You send me a PM and ask nicely /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

For normal washing just glog an egg cup full in a bucket of water. Or use with a power washer.

I keep some neat in a spray bottle for the stuborn bits, but wet boat first so it dont get total full strength. Fibreglass goes a bit yellow if to strong, though it washes off back to normal, but best avoided.

Best thing is, theres no hard work. If all the muck does not come off first time, just spray a bit more on and wait while its softened the muck.
