Coming down the river yesterday into the teeth of a gale when we picked up a desperate message from a fellow yachtsman who'se engine was proving problematic.
Did the decent thing and kept up the Claymore tradition by turning back and taking him in tow. He mentioned salvage and tried to press a bundle of cash into my palm - but hey - what the hell.
Last year it was Sgeir who we saved from a dashing on the rocks, this year an Ex-Commode of Blackpool and Fleetwood.
I can hear the vellum rustling.

Claysie, me 'ol guru, I have an ethical question for you. If you could have established that these souls in distress worked for a company that you despised, let's just say unfAir France for instance, would it be ethical to ignore their plight?

Not a very pleasant position being a commode, I'm sure he is now pleased to be an ex- commode. He certainly must have often heard the rustle of something rather softer than vellum.

A fine thing it is that allows a man to take the higher moral plane and act without thought for his personal stance.
It must be a very unfortunate coincidence that combines Air France, Fleetwood and Higher Club Office.
I think we w should vote you our Commendation, especially as you have previously rescued Sgeir without recompense or recognition.

I cannot recommend you start a salvage business however, as you seem fundamentally unsuited to the commercial aspect.

Hurrah for Claymore!
