Classic styled timber sailing dingy - Pricing help

Without wishing to ignite any arguements, it is plywood rather than timber (This is not a critisism. Some of my best friends are made of plywood....). For that reason I would want to check the water balast arrangements. I don't like the idea of damp little hidden plywood corners.

As to price I obviously don't know the Goolwa market, but it seems quite pricey to me, no doubt to reflect the amount of work that someone has put it. You do get a lovely looking boat for your $.

It's Aussie dollars remember. Which works out at just over £7,000. I'd say that wasn't too unreasonable considering the size and condition of the boat.

Sure you can get a bigger uglier boat for less. But sadly, looks cost money too.

The standard of construction looks very good. I know a good ply/epoxy boat builder who would be proud of that.
The rig looks a bit home-made though. For £7K I would be looking for a bit less of a baggy bed sheet.
Once you've got past the beauty aspect, how well does she sail?
