Classic grp with lots of wood

I think she has a grp lid under the teak ? She will certainly cost a bit to own, but whatever that and the eventual purchase cost would be a bargain compared to a new AWB !

If I was in a position to do so I'd already be making sensible bids; why a boat like that is on E-Bay is a mystery, though it does say she's advertised elsewhere.

But what about all the things that are NOT said in the listing. There is a lot that might or might not be there or need replacing.

Budget about 10x the purchase price to get her into A1 condition. I may be wrong about this one, but without a very good crawl over her, I'd be running away. Anyway, either its wood, or it aint. Neither fish nor fowl comes to mind.

Very likely. Same as my Twister, which has a timber coachroof. A likely area for rot is where the timber coachroof coaming sits on the grp deck. In time the bedding compound in the joint dries out and goes hard, letting water in and rotting the timber. Not difficult for the keen amateur, with plenty of time, to repair but expensive if you have to pay someone to do it.

Built as a one off at Landamores, ply sub deck under the teak, not glass, opens up another can of worms.
Nice boat though, likely to go for not much, likely to spend much on it...

Knowing the boat and the state of the decks I wouldnt go near it without factoring replacing the whole lot. Its a very pretty boat however.

I think it pretty obvious she's going to cost quite a few tens of thousands to get up to A1, but then one would still have a wonderful boat and plenty of change from the price of some el blando new thing...

I really hope it happens, the world is a better place with boats like that about !
