On Saturday 27th May 2017 will be Southampton's first "Parade of Sail" to end Southampton's Sailing Week Events.

On the same day is the first Riverfest to be held at Bitterne Park on the shores of the River Itchen.
A day to celebrate life on and by the River Itchen and as part of a days events is a proposed Parade/Pageant of Classic Boats that would cruise down the river from the Riverfest site to the Itchen Bridge to join the main "Parade of Sail".

The organizers would would be keen to hear from any boat owners that have classic boats that were built or associated with the River Itchen like Ramparts Yachts, Itchen Ferry etc who would like to take part for the Parade and also every boat is welcome to take part in the "Parade of Sail" that leaves the Itchen Bridge for the Hamble and details can be found here.

If the plan is to start at Bitterne Park, how are these yachts going to get under the two road and one rail bridges between there and the navigable part of the Itchen?

Naturally, small Motor Boats and Boats could start up river at Cobden Bridge and Yachts and bigger Boats could join south of Northam Bridge.
