Classic Boat forum

The magazine changed direction with the change in ownership a few years ago and is no longer aimed at "enthusiasts" - or at least not of the same type that inspired the original. it is now a coffee table publication full mainly of pictures of boats that are great to look at but mostly unaffordable for normal people. Also has gone heavy in the US and Med market.

Perhaps the new readers are not the sort of people who have time to waste on a forum, or are not interested in sharing their thoughts with others.

Tranona's got it right ... pages on 'Objects of desire' and flashy watches along with £1m yachts. The ex-editor Dan Houston and some of the team set up 'Classic Sailor' and I think their remit is for getting back to the 'real world of classic boats' that we know and (some of us) love!... they have a website ... www.classicsailor.com
