clamps to hold 1" stainless tube together

I have just put a new guard/grab handle over the cockpit GPS (Raymarine CE90 WS) and now want to put another one over it, for the helmsman to hold, which will need the two tubes to be clamped together.

I've made a start with a jubilee clamp but it's not very elegant and 1" 'clamps' seem to be hard to find.

Any suggestions?

You may well find something suitable if you poke around the Baseline Marine website they have loads of 25mm fittings.

Do you mean clamped side to side something like a figure 8 on its side?

The figure of eight things are called tower clamps. There's a chandlery chain - Whitworths - in Oz that sells them but that's not much help to you! I've just bought four of them to attach an arch to the pushpit to put my new solar panel on and also to attach the aft end of a bimini.

Forgot to add - they are made for 1" tube but come with removable sleeves for 7/8" tube
