Incredible display above the anchorage today - hope those on the beach could see it :D

The wing walker was good but nothing came close to the sight and visceral sound of the Vulcan. I've never seen anything like it, huge and powerful yet seemingly able to fly slowly - and the climb outs were extraordinary. All done right over our heads.

It was good; a bit rolly in the anchorage. Hard to beat the Tornados overhead at Eastbourne a couple of weeks ago though.

Sadly we were unable to get afloat to watch from the best seats in town and had to watch from the somewhat crowded shore...found this footage of the full Clacton Vulcan display on the Vulcan to the Sky website. http://www.dadooda.com/index.cfm/fa/library.detail/Library_ID/14989

The howl as she climbed out was loud on the shore but must have been ear shattering afloat!

I will second that comment!!

I will have to down load the pics that SWMBO took. I tried to video a bit, but it was very hard to both video with one hand and hang on with the other, but as soon as youtube has done it's thing, I will post it here. The Vulcan going right over our heads was awesome

thanks for the link. Afloat was the best place to be, the Spitfires flew so close we could see the pilots' faces.

Ah.. reminds me of '76.. In Plymouth Sound sailing an Albacore on a very gentle day with the now defunct Plymouth Air Show... The Vulcan flew in over the sea and climbed out over the crowd, and the sheer noise buffeting was unbelievable
