Does anybody know the coordinates for the restricted areas for the air show?

I seem to recall they were posted by the police last year but I cannot find details on the Essex Police website nor that of the Air Show organizers.

Thanks

You'll know it when you get there. Unhelpful I know!!!!!

There are humungeous red buoys in a line outwith you must stay, (unless you are a member of the 'Romford navy' on a jet ski in which case you may believe that you are immune from such safety rules and requirements)

Hope you have a good airshow and I hope that the Typhoon is performing for you.

Looking forward to it and dropping down from Maldon on the morning tide. Will probably head to the Pyefleet afterwards if anyone fancies coming aboard for a beer.

I've never anchored in the Wallet before but assume it's good holding?

the holding is a little haphazard, last year the only anchor that i could hold on was a fishermans, the cqr did not want to know! quite a few anchored mobo's dragged!

Thanks Jant.... I've got a 10kg Bruce and 30m of chain so should be fine. A 12kg CQR with chain and rope rode as kedge. If that lot drags then I doubt they'll be flying anyway!! :)

I didn't bother going down to watch, so I don't know what the restricted area was like. However, in view of the decision by the Dartmouth organisers, I wonder whether the Clacton restrictions were much bigger than in previous years? Did anyone go?

Not personally, but spoke to a chap at the end of J and he said it was not good, too far out to see much.

I went... by road. Booked parking ahead next to the airfield for £7 rather than get up at silly o'clock to get there by boat. I counted about 100 moored off. It wasn't amazingly crowded (on the Friday) and we got our two chairs not far from BBC Essex. Got there at about 1030, traffic no issue and a great show - obviously the Red Arrows - but the Gyrocopter, the Hurricane, the Vampires and MiG 15, and the individual stunt champion were all superb...

Journey home back into Colchester from the Brightlingsea traffic lights was awful, but a great day
