I have recently purchased a Cinder 22 of 1966 vintage. She seems to be very solidly built as would be expected of a Tyler molding from that period, and surveyed very well. Very much akin to a long keel Hurley 22, but with more flare to the bow and a rudder attached to the back foot of the keel. I understand that less than 100 were built, but am having difficulty finding more information. Designer, displacement, balast etc. etc. Any information or comment from current or former owners would be most welcome. I am looking forward to finding out how she sails once preseason jobs are completed.

The information I have is that she was an in-house Tyler design in 1961.
Other data:
LWL 18'
LOA 21'6"
Beam 7
Draft 2'7" - 3'3" centreboard or keel
Displ 3650 lbs
Sail Area 250 sq ft
Headroom 4'7"
The comment was "easily managed and maintained"

She also had (in 1974) a Portsmouth number of 102 (Corribee 108, Trident 96, Snapdragon 670 104)

Hope this is of some help
