cigarette socket extension ????

Having a senile moment here, is the positive contact on the cigarette lighter socket, the one in the middle, or the sides?

Definately in the middle as Beneteau delivered my boat with them wired the wrong way round.

A traditional piece of cheap design, as the original were mostly metal with an insulating layer of Bakelite. As the gig lighter was installed in the metal dash (remember those?) it earthed itself. Simple really innit?
