I’m unexpectedly going to be at a bit of a loose end this year over Christmas/New year and wanted to know if anyone would be interested in sharing a bareboat charter sailing somewhere warm like the Canaries?
I’m keen on the Canaries as I’ve been there several times before in the winter and found some cracking good sailing – especially in the western islands. Some info here: Suggested Itinerary
I’ve done some research and a high spec Hanse 400e would cost £1700 PW or a Bavaria 36 £1300. Both models have 3 double cabins so in theory unless you don’t mind sharing, the ideal numbers would be 4 max making it £325/£425 each plus flights etc – flights seem to be showing on the net for about £250 return at the moment.
Other options could be Antigua/BVI with Sunsail or others, the boat cost works out much the same but the cost to get there is vastly more and the costs while there are pretty steep as well…
Anyway, let me know your suggestions; who knows, if there are enough people interested we could take two boats and sail in company??

Hello,

I could be interested if it was for a week over Christmas itself. Do not have much holiday left, so would need to leave around the 23rd. Ideally, Europe!

My wife and I are interested in a charter in early Jan. We have sailed around La Gomera and it can get pretty windy in the WAZ areas. If any of you are interested just email me and we will see if we can make up a crew together. I find that it is cheapest to fly to Tenerife and then get a ferry if necessary.
