Hi all,
I'm taking the plunge and doing a Christmas Day Swim in aid of COPE Galway, Ireland (They are the organisers hence that's the only charity I can raise funds for). I normally do this anyhow, but this year decided to raise some funds for Charity. I'm sure you guys can appreciate just how cold the water is in December, all i'll be wearing is shorts and a Christmas hat - No wetsuits allowed!

Checkout the website, if you're feeling generous feel free to give me a donation /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Every penny sounds, even a €1-2euro donation would be greatly appreciated. Mastercard/Visa/Laser cards accepts - It's a legit charity site so no need to worry about card fraud etc.

The site is: http://www.mycharity.ie/event/niall_christmas_swin/

The website of the charity is:

I'm not one to automatically throw money at a charity, instead I prefer being pro-active and actually doing stuff by volunteering etc. so i'm willing to do the dirty work of freezing my goolies off, I just need you guys to throw me some change! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Thanks in advance guys,
Niall

Nice one SV /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

If I get enough donations, and if an admin will send me a sticker, i'll stick it to my chest/legs/arse/whever - great advertisment for the forum! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

OI !!!
Crafty Mick so He is.
It's Galway-- they only wash once a Year.
And He wants paying for it!!!

Just for His cheeks I might forfeit an IOU in Alt's direction.
A Euro should well cover it looking at the water temp!! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

SV - Hey, i'm sticking within the speed limits /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Kawasaki - It rains so much over here we don't need showers, we get a wash everytime we go outdoors. Whats the smell? Not me, honest!

I could be a right bollix and swim in my speedo's - lets see ye ask for pictures then! "WHAT HAS BEEN SEEN CANNOT BE UNSEEN" - Ah no, think it'll be shorts and santa hat

OK well I held up my end of the bargain, and here's the proof!

The tide was out, so instead of jumping from the tower we had to run in from the beach. Myself and a friend (In Santa hats) running in:

It was fecking FREEZING, really cold without a wetsuit. You wouldn't last long in the water this time of year - If anything the swim makes you respect the water even more... if you fell off your boat in your clothes you're a gonner!

Happy XMas everyone, thanks so much for the donations (Hope COPE are greatful too for your generousity!)
