Oops didn't mean to start anything...but yes overall the Bavaria from 1991 was a great all round boat, with some nice design features that worked well in warm climates. As a live aboard the biggest shower of any 40' er and two full size hatches above aft berth for ventilation. A great huge deck locker on the foredeck for fenders (downwind sailing refuse was stored there so smell was blown forwards). Locker under sugar scoop great for petrol and extra gas bottles as it drained to the sea.
The Sweden 38 seemed well finished but we had keel issues (after grounding) and the steering failure it was still very conventional in layout, just a little wider than the Rival, Sigma designs but had no swim platform/sugar scoop. The swim platform is so useful whether pulling a tuna aboard or loading shopping from dinghy. Storm handling the biggest difference was the older long keel boats are much wetter and downstairs much more cramped/cozy (and much more water getting downstairs as I remember them, there was less room to store wet gear. The Feeling had the best wet gear storage behind the heads and sailed really well. starting to ramble on a bit now....
