Had an unexpected sail today, went to clean the boat and weather was fantastic so had a sail from Woolverstone to Harwich and back, winds about 14kn great beat down and leisurely run back.

About 5 other boats on the river, magic day.

I had a great sail on Monday. Didn't get to the boat (at Shotley) until about 2pm. Intended to go out for a quick spin before it got dark. Headed upriver with a reefed main and half the genoa. Grey, damp, gloomy and very gusty - rather pleasant in a manly kind of a way (but also not too cold - I'm not that much of a man!). Would have turned back at Pin Mill, but I was having too much fun, and continued up to Ipswich Bridge before turning back and coming back down river in the dark and against the tide. Think I saw total of two other boats sailing and two or three under engine the whole time. Felt really refreshed and invigorated afterwards. Roll on the weekend.

Think I might have seen you going down river about 1730. I was just out to the boat for an evening on board. Was tempted to sail myself, but didnt get away from work early enough...
